The project
The aim of our project is to facilitate the exchange of experience and good practices between youth workers and youth leaders from 5 countries and 3 different continents, coming from NGOs that are using art and culture as tools for inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities and for promotion of cultural diversity in order to support the development of long term partnerships between groups having similar interests and priorities.
The objectives are:
- to share experience regarding realities, approaches and working methods used in different countries
- to promote good practices and innovative ideas to be used for inclusion and diversity in youth work in the above mentioned regions
- to facilitate the intercultural learning process and the intercultural dialogue
- to create premises for international partnership between groups actively involved at local level
- to encourage the use of art and culture as a tool for inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities and promotion of cultural diversity
- to create a proper environment where young people can share experiences and build up joint /common projects
- to contribute to the development of art and culture related skills of the participants
- to establish the premises for a long term cooperation between NGOs from the countries concerned
- to promote good practices and innovative ideas to be used for inclusion and diversity in youth work in the above mentioned regions
- to engage young people with demonstrated leadership ability and to motivate them to take an active role within their local community
- to improve youth empowerment and active participation .
- to foster capacity building for youth organization and structures in order to contribute to civil society development
- to sensibilize youth leaders and youth workers about the great poverty existing in Africa and how to face it sharing good practices and innovative and creative ideas
- to share best practices and sensibilize youth leaders and youth workers about sustainable development

The priorities will be addressed as follow:
The activity programme is designed taking into account youth realities and needs identified all partners in their local communities and is focused on the best achievement of the all these objectives
· Eradicate extreme poverty and hunger: the venue in Brazil and in Tanzania will be addressed with special regard to face this priority through conferences, seminars, local visits, forum of discussion so that youth leaders will be aware of this crucial problem and they will interact in order to exchange creative and innovative ideas to face it
· Sustainable development: during the first meeting in Spain there will be a seminar and forum of discussion between participants, youth and local communitiy with the topic of “sustainable development in our local areas and in a global integrated world” from environmental, economical and social point of view. Each partner will present a power point presentation about the situation of sustainable development in each local area and at national level. Eurogems will present and share its know-how and best practices of sustainable development in European Union
· Participation of young people: through the active involvement of youth leaders, youth workers and youth of the local communities in the preparatory activities and in the activities planned durint the 3 meeting in program (3 venues: Spain, Brazil Tanzania)
· Cultural diversity: the participation to all activities during the 12 months of this project of 6 countries from 4 different continents ensure a wide range of intercultural exchange and intercultural learning and intercultural dialogue between youth with different cultures from all over the world. During the second meeting in Brasil the main topic will be the intercultural learning through art and culture: music, dance, songs, cultural heritage, painting, theater.
· European citizenship: Italian and Spanish partner will bring their expertise and know-how about European citizenship and active citizenship seen their great curriculum participating to several Youth in Action projects as partners and coordinators in Europe, neighbour countries and other countries far from Europe
· Inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities: each partner will involve in all the activities of the project young people with fewer opportunities coming from socio-cultural disadvantaged local areas
· Combating poverty and social exclusion: this is the topic that will be faced during the last meeting in Tanzania through local visits, seminars and youth forum of discussion with the involvmente of local authorities and stakeholders. Local visits about this priority will be done in Brasil too.
· Strengthening the Euro-African dialogue, exchange and cooperation in the field of youth: this will be ensured during the 12 months of cooperation between 3 of the partners (Italy, Spain, and Tanzania) and with the collaboration of Brazilian partner (Brazil has African rooths) with its afro-cultural heritage (and its integrated euro-afro-cultural heritage) through art and culture
The cooperation in the youth sector between Programme Countries and other partner countries of the world will be ensured by the staff and trainers of Programme Countries (Italy and Spain) and their expertises and know-how that they will share with all the participants and youth leaders during the 3 international meeting in program in Spain, Brazil and Tanzania, through seminars, conferences and non-formal learning and training (active participation through art and culture) about Youth in Action Programme and its actions, activities and results
